The Girlfriends4life Foundation, Inc. was founded in February, 2001, by a mother, a daughter, a sister a friend and most importantly a woman. A woman who has worn many hats, fought many fights and experienced triumph over tragedy.
As women, no matter the color, age or walk of life, we at times may find ourselves in many situations such as divorce, homelessness, depression, domestic violence and without money or food to feed our children. The Girlfriends4Life Foundation, Inc. was founded on the basis of the "girlfriends" concept. Girlfriends being there for one another in any given situation.
While going through the trenches of lifes ups and downs, I have found that women generally have many of the same needs and many of the same experiences. The difference however, in the outcome in any given situation, is the support and resources that one has access to, and is available to them in order to overcome ones obstacles. The Girlfriends4life Foundation, is that resource and is that support.

The Girlfriends4life Foundation, Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization that serves women of all ages who reside in low-income and distressed environments and are in need of social services, i.e. emergency food, funds, employment assistance, financial literacy as well as those experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.
Through our community outreach, collaborative partnerships and diversified funding programs, we will enrich the lives of women, by giving them the necessary tools and resources needed in order to live productive, purpose-filled and healthy life styles for themselves and their families.

ENRICHMENT
The Girlfriends4Life "Ready 4 the World" Youth Program prepares our teen girls, ages 14-18, for adulthood by offering them the following programs:
-Financial Literacy This program assists our teens with the comprehension and preparation for the financial world. They will gain knowledge in the following areas: Managing their finances, Banking, Saving, Spending and Investing, all with the assistance of our community bank partnerships, several financial institutions and professional volunteers.
-Teen Spotlight For those teen girls who are excelling in various areas of education, sports or are making a difference within their community, we do a video spotlight and brief snippet interview. By doing this, it not only rewards that particular teen girl, but it also offers a direct image and encourages those teens who may be having difficulty excelling and progressing in the same capacity.
-Diverse Educational Programs This program gives our teen girls access to a wide variety of educational programs and resources such as Politics, Science & Technology, Engineering and NASA Programs, Media and much more. These resources will help our teens to become accomplished and successful contributors to our society.
-Direct Mentoring Our mentorship program allows our youth to have direct mentorship with an adult Girlfriend who has the education, professional experience and where-with-all, to guide her toward higher education and her desired field of interest, as well as personal growth, which will ultimately lead her onto the road of success.
Our Angel Sponsorship program is designed to alleviate immediate hardships and burdens through funds donated by our Angel Sponsors.
Once the immediate need is met, we will put our member on the road to success through our collaborative partnerships and resources.
The funds from our Angel sponsors are used to assist our members in the following ways:
Eviction/Rent
Utility Assistance
Day Care Expense Assistance
Emergency Expenses (Health and unforeseen emergencies)
Education Assistance
*An Angel Sponsor may also choose to sponsor a member who is in need of financial educational assistance with one of our collaborative partner educational programs.
